THE MOST EPIC RED CARPET FAILS OF ALL TIME WILL MAKE YOU CRINGE

THE MOST EPIC RED CARPET FAILS OF ALL TIME WILL MAKE YOU CRINGE GRAHAM TRIPS UP Ashley Graham has been one of the hardest-working plus-sized models of the 21st century. She is also a television presenter and social media influencer, which has helped her rise to recognition in the United States. Besides striving to be her best self, she also has some off days, one of which couldn’t come at a worse time. Graham hit the red carpet at the 2017 Time 100 Gala in New York City, both figuratively and literally, in a rare embarrassing moment. While making her way down the carpet after a flurry of photos, her heel got entangled with her silky dress, and she tripped, almost falling. FASHION TOO FAR? Britney Spears is regarded as the Queen of Pop, and rightly so. Besides giving us some of the best hits of all time, she has been a fashion icon for as long as we can remember, with some of her best statements coming during the late ’90s and early ’00s...

Sweden re-examining residency permit of Iraqi refugee who burned Qur’an copy

Sweden re-examining residency permit of Iraqi refugee who burned Qur’an copy STOCKHOLM: The Swedish migration agency has said it is re-examining the residency permit of an Iraqi refugee who is behind several acts of Quran desecration in Stockholm in recent weeks, which have upset Muslims across the world. An Iraqi refugee by the name of Salwan Momika burned a copy of the Qur’an outside Stockholm's central mosque on Eid Al-Adha (June 28) and also held a demonstration in front of the Iraqi Embassy earlier this month, where he threatened to burn the Muslim holy book once again. The migration agency said late on Friday that it was re-examining the man’s immigration status, after it received information from the Swedish authorities that had given it reason to examine whether the man’s status in Sweden should be revoked. “It is a statutory measure that is taken when the Swedish migration agency receives such information and it is too early to say anything about the out...

Judge throws out Donald Trump’s $475m ‘big lie’ defamation lawsuit against CNN

Judge throws out Donald Trump’s $475m ‘big lie’ defamation lawsuit against CNN Judge Raag Singhal ruled that CNN’s words were opinion and could not be the subject of a defamation claim A federal judge has thrown out Donald Trump’s $475m defamation lawsuit against CNN, in which the former president claimed the network’s description of his claims of election fraud as the “big lie” associated him with Adolf Hitler. In a ruling late on Friday night, US judge Raag Singhal, who was nominated by Trump in 2019, said CNN’s words were opinion, not fact, and therefore could not be the subject of a defamation claim. “CNN’s statements while repugnant, were not, as a matter of law, defamatory,” wrote Singhal, who sits in federal court in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, near Trump’s home at his Mar-a-Lago resort The lawsuit, which was filed in October 2022, highlighted five instances in which CNN either published stories or aired comments referring to Trump’s assertions about t...

England beat Denmark to stand on verge of Women’s World Cup last-16

England beat Denmark to stand on verge of Women’s World Cup last-16 James scored the only goal of the game in a second 1-0 win for England. European champions England stand on the brink of the Women’s World Cup last-16 after a Lauren James cracker in the sixth minute gave them a 1-0 win over Denmark. But an otherwise hugely satisfactory Friday night for England in front of just over 40,000 fans in Sydney was marred by what looked like a serious knee injury to influential midfielder Keira Walsh. On a night of mixed emotions, Sarina Wiegman’s side will seal their place in the knockout rounds if Asian champions China fail to beat debutants Haiti later on Friday. Denmark might have stolen a point with three minutes left in normal time when, despite having as little as 20 percent of the possession for much of the game, Amalie Vangsgaard shaved the outside of the England post with a header. On a night of mixed emotions, Sarina Wiegman’s side will s...
